Raising the Flag - 10:00 am
Raising and Displaying the NHS, Social Care & Frontline Workers’ Day Flag and Banner
We have produced a special flag and banner bearing the event logo – including the stylised rainbow that came to symbolise our nationwide appreciation of those working on the frontline. We are encouraging councils, voluntary groups, professional bodies, companies, churches and cathedrals, hotels, hospitals, schools and other organisations, to purchase a flag and banner and proudly fly it or display it from their windows. £5 from every flag and banner sold will be equally divided between our two chosen good causes.
Participants will be asked to raise or display the flags and banners at 10am on July 5th to signal the official start the day’s celebrations, and to leave them flying for seven days. Three sizes of flag and two sizes of banner are available, including one for Government buildings. Flags and banners can be obtained from our official supplier J. W. Plant & Co Ltd.
MPs, Lord Mayors, Mayors, HM Lord Lieutenants, High Sheriffs, High Stewards, Leaders of Councils, and others should be invited to raise flags and banners in their local communities in the first celebration of its kind in the world.
